Keeping It Positive (PBIS)
In Hancock Middle School, we believe in keeping things positive! Our students are proud to be Bulldogs and we are working together to specifically define what this means. Hancock Middle is in the process of becoming a school which utilizes Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). What this means is that we are creating common expectations for teachers and students by reinforcing good behaviors though incentives and instruction.
When other students see a friend recognized for great behavior, they tend to want to do the right thing as well. And, research shows that teaching positively shapes behavior long-term more than any other method. Go, Dawgs!
